Common Name: Tropical Black Bamboo Plants

Maximum Height: of 50' with the culms 3.5" in diameter

Minimum Temp: to 30F

Product Size: Small 3 gallon plants freshly rooted with 1 or 2 new shoot emerging. (see Picture) Will form a large clump within a couple of years.

Description: Large Tropical black bamboo from the tropical island of Java, can grow up to 50' Tall in arching V pattern. Black culms with white nodal bands and its large green leaves give tropical black a different look than its 'Timor Black' cousin. An exquisite landscape specimen, suitable for a large pot or directly in the landscape. The wood is highly prized for its strength and will mantain its color after harvest. Highly sought after timber for furniture making among other crafts. When mature Tropical Black bamboo has a weeping arch at the top. A very rare and tropical bamboo, a collectors bamboo. Cold sensitive, temperatures below 30F even for just a couple of hours will slow this bamboo down. A must for any collector.
